EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR / CEO
Mr. Petersen has been with LifeLine since its establishment in 1990 and has worked with thousands of youth and families. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Masters in Business Administration and also received a degree in Psychology from the University of Utah. Shane has served for 8 years on the Board for the Salt Lake Management Society, an organization dedicated to “growing moral and ethical leadership” in business. His expertise in business administration is an extraordinary asset to the organization. His dedicated service and interpersonal skills are a strength to the staff and families at LifeLine. Outside of work, Shane enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children.
DAN SCHOLZ, LCSW
Mr. Scholz has been employed at LifeLine since 2000. Dan is a graduate of Weber State University in Social Work. He received his Master’s degree at the University of Utah and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Dan is responsible for the clinical program, the supervision of the professional staff, and program development. Dan has a deep passion for the work that he does at LifeLine. In addition to working at LifeLine, Dan is also involved in community drug rehabilitation work. He is a significant positive role model for the youth leading by example.
RALPH W. KNAPP, MD
Dr. Knapp completed his child and adolescent psychiatrist training at the University of Utah. He has practiced for more than 25 years in various settings which has given him extensive experience in working with children and adolescents. He has an excellent working knowledge of psychiatric medication with expertise in applying these medications to improve psychiatric problems. He has been with LifeLine since 1994 and has been instrumental in facilitating weekly multi-disciplinary team meetings with the clinical staff. His professional abilities and medical experiences have added strength to our very talented therapeutic team.
THERAPIST, MCKENZIE CHRISTENSEN, LMFT
McKenzie is a graduate of BYU and completed her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at AAMFT accredited Utah State University. Her dynamic personality is an asset to the treatment team. She is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada. She has worked in school settings in addition to public and private clinics. She enjoys music, sports, and spending time with her family. McKenzie is very skilled at connecting with the youth and she is an excellent role model.
THERAPIST, ERIK JENKINS, CSW
Erik Jenkins graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s in Sociology and a Bachelor’s in Community and Consumer Studies. He graduated with a Master’s from Arizona State University in Social Work. Before coming to LifeLine, he worked with juvenile sex offenders in a residential treatment facility. Erik also has experience working with military veterans at the Department of Veterans Affairs. In his spare time, Erik enjoys running, road biking, working out, partaking in sporting events and spending time with his family.
THERAPIST, JESSICA MEEKINS, LCSW
Jessica graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and Psychology in December 2004 at Utah Valley University. She graduated in May 2008 with her Master’s degree in Social Work through the University of Utah. Her experience includes working at an adolescent treatment center for females, as well as a primary therapist with youth at Copper Hills Treatment Center. Jessica is also employed as a part time crisis worker at Primary Children’s Medical Center. She is originally from Utah County, but has lived in the Salt Lake Valley for the past 10 years. Jessica enjoys art, running, reading, the outdoors, and spending time with her husband and son.”
THERAPIST, DAVE CALLISTER, LCSW
Dave Callister graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and a Master’s in Social Work. He has enjoyed working with the youth and families of LifeLine in various roles since 2000. Dave has over ten years experience working with adolescents in multiple capacities. In addition to LifeLine, he has worked at Lakeview Hospital Behavioral Unit, Odyssey House Adolescent, Catalyst Residential Treatment Center, and the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute (UNI). In his spare time, Dave enjoys playing basketball, mountain biking, playing the guitar and hanging out with his wife and daughters.
HEAD NURSE, DEBBIE LINETT, RN
Mrs. Linett has been employed at LifeLine since 2006 and has been a nurse in the mental health field for past two decades. Her extensive work in the medical field and her professionalism provides the youth at LifeLine excellent medical services. Debbie has a unique sense of nurturing and caring to not only the youth but to the staff as well. Her skills and delightful personality is an asset the treatment team.
